Marcel Geißler is a passionate ultrarunner, a proud father of a wonderful daughter, and the husband of an incredibly fast woman – his running partner, Sylvie. His greatest passion is running long distances in the mountains, preferably on technically demanding trails, both uphill and downhill, together with Sylvie and, for the past two years, also with Elfi.
Marcel's journey into ultrarunning started relatively late—he only discovered his enthusiasm for running at the age of 33. Together with Sylvie, with whom he had already shared numerous mountain adventures—whether hiking, climbing, cycling, or skiing—he developed a deep passion for trail and ultrarunning. What made running truly special for him was the time spent together in the mountains.
For Marcel, ultrarunning is an incredibly diverse sport. Distances of over 100 kilometers, countless meters of elevation gain, hours of training, and the mental strength required to compete in races constantly challenge him. Yet, in the end, it is the indescribable feeling at the finish line and the breathtaking landscapes he runs through that drive him forward.

Looking ahead, Marcel hopes for more structure and professionalization in ultrarunning—without losing the sport's unique spirit. His biggest dreams? He has already fulfilled many, with victories and strong finishes in races like the Zugspitz UltraTrail and the TransAlpine Run.
"#forthe100”
This mantra was born in 2019 for his first 100-kilometer ultramarathon and has since become deeply rooted in his mindset.
