Zina Barhoumi an active cyclocross athlete also works as an interior decorator and studies interior design. Zina tried her hand at various sports in her youth. It was at 19 that Zina took on cyclocross professionally. Her preferred training location is in the beautiful Engadine region where she lives.
It was clear from the beginning from the start that her focus would be on cross-country. What fascinates her most about cross-country is the interplay of the technical and physical aspects. The short and strenuous stretches as well as the constant changes between cycling and running make the sport so varied. Zina really enjoys cyclocross in the wetter and colder climates.
What makes the sport so special, in her opinion, is that the races take place on short laps with different passages which makes it attractive for the spectators. In combination of the short duration, the strenuous sections and of course the varying weather conditions, the races are adrenaline packed until the very end.
