Benjamin Bildstein and David Hussl together form the Austrian sailing team Bildstein-Hussl Sailing. After entering top-level sport and the Olympic 49er boat class, the team developed rapidly and was accepted into the army sports and national squads. Based at the Bregenz Yacht Club, the sailing duo has celebrated numerous successes in recent years, including medals at World Cups and World Championships as well as World Cup victories.
The team is known for its friendliness, good work ethic, perseverance and excellent boat handling skills.
According to the guys, in order to function well as a team, what is needed above all is full trust in teammates as well as a clear common goal that is pursued with full commitment.
The special thing about sailing, according to Benjamin and David, is the play with the elements of water and wind. "Almost every sailing trip can become an adventure. This includes meter-high waves during storms, breathtaking sunsets or encounters with sea creatures. But sailing is also characterized by its complexity, requiring countless skills, from knowledge of materials to sail trim and tactics to team leadership and decision-making.
After a row of great successes and 10th place at the Tokyo Olympics, the team is now aiming to win an Olympic medal at the next Olympics.
