Alizée Paties is a professional Xterra (cross triathlon) athlete. Cross triathlon consists of the disciplines swimming, mountain biking and trail running. After practicing modern jazz for 7 years, she discovered outdoor sports for herself in high school and since then it became her big passion. She was very lucky to have a good sports teacher in high school who was pushing her a lot and made her push her limits. “When I was practicing outdoor sports, I just felt so happy and motivated.”
Alizée started her outdoor sport journey with mountain biking, where she competed for five years in the French and World Cup series in the U23. In 2018 she decided to try Xterra and immediately fell in love with this sport. After winning the world championship for the age group 20-24 she decided to go cross triathlon. Just one year later Alizée started competing in the elite competitions.
The special thing about her sport is that she can discover new places while travelling around the world and connect with many new people on her journey. “I just love my sport and cannot really describe how happy I’m feeling when I’m training or racing. I just didn’t find any other thing that makes me happier at this moment.”
Asked about the future development of her sport Alizée explains us that since 2019 she can see the improvement of Xterra. “World Cup races also progressed a lot and the prize money is increasing as well. Xterra is developing a lot at the moment and I’m very happy to be part of this journey.”
Her biggest dream is to become world champion one day. We wish Alizée all the best for her future!
